Online Tutoring Now Available
One-on-one tutoring is still the best and fastest way to learn and improve academically. However, sometimes one-on-one sessions aren't possible or practical due to distance or scheduling. For example, when a student goes to college.
Many students heading off to college have asked if there is a way we could continue working together. The answer is YES!
As of September 2009, I have expanded my services to include online tutoring sessions.
These sessions are available to students who may be out of town, unavailable for a one-on-one session, need a quick review before an exam/deadline or have moved out of state to attend college.
Here's how it works:
Scheduling:
Online sessions will be available in 10 minute increments and will be scheduled flexibly according to the needs of students. Parents and students can schedule a session in advance or on the same day by phone or email.
Software:
All you need is an internet connection! Sessions will take place online through a private website which provides real-time interactive communication including: writing, drawing, math functions, instant-messaging, audio and visual chat.
I have utilized programs such as Skype (a free service) and iChat (specific to the Apple Mac operating system).
Hardware:
Although not required, students may wish to purchase a digital writing tablet which will allow them to draw and write on the interactive website more easily than a mouse will allow. These digital tablets range in price from $50-$300.
